Our mental health day opportunities help adults who need support with their mental wellbeing, to take part in groups and activities.
Who we help
We support adults:
- with a mental health diagnosis
- experiencing mental health issues
What we do
Our main aim is to help reduce barriers and provide opportunities for those in need, to engage in the community and improve their quality of life.
We offer community-led support across the city by working collaboratively with communities and partners, including the Community Mental Health Teams, Acute Services, Specialist Services, Primary Care, the Voluntary Sector and other agencies.
The support starts at 3 months and can be up to a maximum of 6 months.
Our objectives
We help people identify their strengths, improve their confidence and skills for independence through community support, activities or hub attendance.
Our objectives are to:
- provide person-centred support which is coproduced, bringing people and organisations together around a shared vision
- offer support using the strengths based and asset based approaches - recognising that each individual and community may be different but treated as equals and their strengths are promoted and built on
- provide the least intrusive and restrictive support possible
- encourage self-management and choice based on trust and empowerment
- work collaboratively with the person and other agencies to achieve their goals
- apply positive risk management principles whilst maintaining safety
- ensure people can get support and advice when they need it by providing advice and signposting to relevant agencies which may be more suited to support the individual needs and their wellbeing
- provide a service which is responsive, proportionate and delivers good outcomes
