The
Proposed Main Modifications to the Remitted part of the Site Allocations Plan was submitted to the Secretary of State on 26 March 2021.
Further to the consultation on the proposed Main Modifications to the Site Allocations Plan Remittal undertaken from the 5 January to the 16 February 2021, a further Main Modification is proposed in relation to Barrowby Lane, Manston (formerly referenced as MX2-38 in the SAP).
This additional proposed Main Modification (MM39 EG2-37 Barrowby Lane, Manston) proposes the site to be allocated for general employment uses. The effect of this will be that the site is removed from the Green Belt.
Consultation
The consultation related only to the Proposed Main Modification MM39 (EG2-37 Barrowby Lane, Manston) and the Sustainability Appraisal Addendum, Submission Version, March 2021 and supporting documents.
Consultation to the Proposed Main Modification MM39 (EG2-37 Barrowby Lane, Manston) took place over a 6 week period from 11 May to 22 June 2021. The proposed council's main modification MM39 consultation is now closed.

Due to the current restrictions arising from the COVID-19 pandemic, the council has published an Interim Statement of Community Involvement (SCI). This means our consultation activity and materials are made available online.
Next Steps
All duly made comments received on the proposed Main Modifications MM39 will be submitted to the independent inspector for consideration in preparation for the hearing sessions.
The Planning Inspector will advise on the process and timescale for the examination of the SAP Remittal including the date of the hearing session.
