What happens if you don’t pay your rent
If you don’t pay your rent on time you will be in arrears. We will send you a letter if your account goes into arrears.
Warning
If you are in arrears you might lose your home.
We want to support our tenants to pay their rent, but if arrears reach an unacceptable level we can:
- apply to the County Court to request a possession order of the property
- request an order for court costs, which are added to the arrears
- cancel an application for re-housing
If you are evicted for not paying your rent and still owe us money, we will contact you to arrange payment.
