2022 Elections
36 young people aged 11 to 18 applied to become Members of Youth Parliament 2022 to 24 by writing a manifesto on a subject important to them (education, poverty, homelessness, bullying, mental health and climate change) and these were shortlisted to 6 candidates who were entered into the election.
Candidates canvased in their local areas, at their places of education as well as on social media. There was a fantastic buzz across Leeds in support of each of the candidates leaving residents thoroughly impressed with the level of passion from our candidates. Over 2,000 young people voted.
