A telecare alarm system can help you live safely and independently at home.
Leeds Tele Care can provide 24-hour monitoring of alarms and sensors, which sends an alert to the response centre, where staff can get you the appropriate help.
Types of telecare sensors
Find out more about the sensors available that you can add to your telecare package.
Bed sensor
This sends an alarm to the response centre if you get out of bed and don’t return at a set time. It can also be connected to a light which will turn on when you get out of bed.;
Carbon monoxide detector
This alarm can detect carbon monoxide and natural gas. If a gas appliance is turned on but not lit, an alarm will be sent to the response centre for help.
Chair sensor
A pressure pad which monitors occupancy and automatically raises an alarm call if unexpected activity is detected.
Door contacts
An alarm is sent to the response centre to let them know doors are open. These can be used on both doors inside the house and doors going outside.
Fall detector
An alarm is sent to the response centre if it senses changes to normal movement. It can be worn on a wristband or belt around the waist.
Flood detector
An alarm will be sent to the response centre if there is water on the floor.
Floor mat sensor
A simple and effective means for alerting when a person leaves their room or home. When the mat is stepped on, the sensor is activated and an alarm is sent to the response centre.
Heat sensor
An alarm is sent to the response centre if the temperature at home goes over a set limit, or if it goes up too quickly in a short space of time.
Medication reminder
Up to four alarms can be set in the day to remind you to take your medicines on time. If the alarm is set off and you don't turn it off, an alert will be sent to the response centre.
Memo Minder
The Memo Minder plays back a pre-recorded message of up to 20 seconds when it detects motion. This can be used to remind you to take your medication.
Mem-x
A voice memory aid designed for those with some memory loss, it tells the user in a pre-recorded voice all they have to do at that time, from special events to taking medication.
Smoke detector
This alarm can detect smoke or fire and sends an alarm to the response centre for help.

There are several telecare packages available, with options of different sensors connected to the alarm unit, to meet your specific requirements.
