Information on the refurbishment of the Leeds Media Centre in Chapeltown which will offer support for businesses.
This has been funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), Unity Enterprise and Leeds City Council.
What the refurbishment will involve
We have received up to £929, 691 from the England ERDF Programme as part of the European Structural and Investment Funds Growth Programme 2014 to 2020.
This funding will be used to upgrade the Leeds Media Centre which is based in the former Trades Club in Chapeltown.
The project will completely refurbish the internal space to create an improved workspace and meet the demands of today's businesses.
The refurbishment will provide an affordable workspace for organisations in the creative and digital sector. It will also:
- create 1,994 metres squared of improved and updated business space
- make the building environmentally friendly
- make the centre more accessible
Refurbishment will begin in Autumn 2021 and complete by September 2023.
Support for businesses
The Media Centre will have a business support adviser to help new and existing businesses:
- create new job opportunities
- survive and grow
Help is also available for businesses in the wider digital and media sectors.
This project will aim to help 84 businesses, including 12 new businesses, and create 12 new jobs.
The adviser will be available to support businesses from Autumn 2021.
