Electrical safety inspections

As a landlord, we are required to regularly inspect the electrical installation within your home. This must happen at least once every five years, although sometimes it may need to happen more frequently, particularly if the wiring inside your home is old.

This a free safety inspection that could save the lives of you, your family and your neighbours. Electrical inspections are important to ensure that your home is safe, and to reduce the risks of fire and electric shocks. During the inspection, we will also ensure that you have working smoke detectors.

We also carry out electrical and gas inspections at all changes of tenancy, so it is important that you always get our permission first before doing a Mutual Exchange.

Appointments for your electrical inspection

We will contact you in advance to let you know when we are coming. We appreciate that our choice appointment may not be convenient to you so if you need to rearrange the appointment, please contact our contractor straight away.

It is a condition of your tenancy agreement that you allow us access to complete the inspection. If you don't let us carry out the gas safety check, you will breach your tenancy agreement and we will take legal action by applying to the courts for a warrant to access your home and complete the safety inspection.
