Get involved with your local community committee. Speak with local councillors and have your say on decisions made in your neighbourhood.
About community committees
There are 10 community committees across Leeds. Each committee represents a different part of the city and is made up of local councillors from the wards in that area.
Find your local community committee.
It's their job to make sure local people have a say in decisions about what happens in their neighbourhoods.
The committees also allocate money to fund community projects and youth activities.

How to get involved
Committees hold local debates on decisions about:
- environmental improvements
- community safety
- health and wellbeing
- employment
You can get involved and join debates in the following ways.
Find a meeting
Each committee holds 4 business meetings a year. These are a way for you to join debates on issues that are important to your community and play a part in decision making.
All meetings are open to the public and are usually themed around a topic. They usually start in the early evening and last for a couple of hours.
Online meetings
Due to the coronavirus pandemic our meetings are held over Zoom and broadcast online.
While the public are not invited to speak at online meetings, they can still view the live broadcast or submit a question in advance.
We'll publish web links to the meeting broadcasts on each community committee's web page and Facebook page, along with upcoming meeting dates and records of previous meetings.
Find your local community committee's meeting details and web pages.
Submit a question for a meeting
Each online meeting will hear 3 questions or topics submitted by the public.
If there are more than 3 submitted, the extra questions will be heard at the next meeting. If an issue is urgent, the committee chair can request that it is dealt with outside of the committee meeting.
To submit a question or topic it must be:
- submitted at least 3 days before the meeting
- no longer than 150 words (or 60 seconds)
- about a topic specific to your local area, not a city wide or national issue
Submit your question or topic by email, to the
Community Committee Support Team.
We will contact you after the meeting to tell you the outcome or next steps agreed by the committee.
