Plan your journey

Find local routes to walk, wheel and cycle shorter journeys, including cycle parking to help plan your journey.

Cycling

Cycling can be a good way to travel shorter and medium distances around Leeds, and it can have benefits for your wellbeing and mobility too. There’s over 10km of segregated cycle lanes in the city centre for you to get around by bike. You can also use designated bus lanes and bus gates when on your bike too.         

Walking

Walking is a great way to travel shorter distances and has lots of benefits for your health and wellbeing. Even short walks count towards your recommended weekly exercise and there are lots of walking routes in and around Leeds.         

Google Maps and Apple Maps also have cycling and walking options to plan your route          

Support and resources

  • Active Leeds has support available for local walking groups, helping you to meet new people and explore the local area
  • Free adult cycle training – get support no matter your skills or experience, whether you've never ridden a bike before, you want to practice a journey, or you want to learn how to look after your bike
  • Herd FarmLineham Farm and the John Charles Centre for Sport offer cycling activities for children, young people and adults with disabilities   
  • Let's Ride – find bike rides run by trained volunteers, including cycling routes and inspiration to get riding
