The Parent Portal is run by Synergy on behalf of Leeds City Council. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:

Not keyboard accessible
The school search box is not keyboard accessible due to users being unable to tab into the search results box. There is an alternative available through advanced search. This fails WCAG criteria 2.1.1 Keyboard.
Logical focus order
The focus order when navigating between some pages does not reset to the top of the new content. This fails WCAG criteria 2.4.3 Focus order.
Empty table headers
Tables that have edit functionality have no table header to explain the purpose of that column. This fails WCAG criteria 1.3.1 Info and Relationships.
Parsing errors
General mark-up errors across the site. This fails WCAG criteria 4.1.1 Parsing.
Elements must only use allowed ARIA attributes
Icons used for progress through the form are using ARIA attributes not valid for spans/divs. This fails WCAG criteria 4.1.2 Name, Role, Value.
Interactive controls
Nested interactive controls are not announced by screen readers. Accordions have roles set as buttons with information within them which is not valid mark-up. This fails WCAG criteria 4.1.2 Name, Role, Value.
Input purpose
Autocomplete attribute of the email address is set to 'current-password' and is incorrect mark-up. This fails WCAG Criteria 1.3.5 Identify input purpose.
Form hints
Invalid form entry form hints are not linked to their respective inputs on the create account page so will not be read out to screen reader users. This fails WCAG Criteria 3.3.2 Labels and instructions.
What we're doing to improve accessibility
11 July 2024 - Our supplier Synergy is due to complete further upgrades focussed around accessibility complaince in November. At which time a new audit and statement will be produced.
