Local authority property searches

Apply for a local authority search

There are different ways to apply for a search. You can:

• email LandPSS@leeds.gov.uk for a Land Search request form
  
• complete a Con29 form (available from your solicitor)
  
• use the National land Information Service (NLIS) who apply for a search on your behalf

You can request an unlimited number of refreshed searches for any searches you have already paid for, free of charge, within 6 months.

You do not have to purchase the LLC1 from Leeds City Council, this can be purchased direct from HM Land Registry. We will purchase one on your behalf and return the results together with your Official Con29 Report.

Environmental Information Regulations requests (in relation to Con29 data)

If you choose not to purchase an Official Con29 Search, you can make a request under the Environmental Information Regulations (EIR). There is no fee for this service. Any EIR request will provide you with the sources of data, it will be up to you to analyse them and find the relevant information. Please send any EIR requests to:

Local Land Charges

Search for local land charges on land and property on the Local Land Charges Register on HM Land Registry.

We can provide verified personal search reports, please email LandPSS@leeds.gov.uk for details.

We will supply copy documents in relation to any Local Land Charges (where available) and process any query relating to potentially erroneous data, but we cannot amend or comment on LLC1 or personal search reports.
