Find out how to renew your driver's and vehicle's licence or change your details.
It is your responsibility to ensure that you renew your licence on time. A completed renewal form must be submitted online and you may renew your badge 6 weeks before your renewal date. You can request an appointment by emailing us, see the contact us section at the bottom of this page.
If you do not renew on time, your licence will expire and you will need to apply again.
In order to proceed with the renewal you must:

You have 72 hours to inform us and have your badge updated. You will need to provide a letter of introduction from your intended operator and pay the relevant fee for your licence documents to be updated.

You cannot renew a licence for a vehicle which has been written off. If the vehicle has been recorded on the HPI register in error, it is your responsibility to resolve this with the insurer.

Operator licence renewal forms are available on request from the Taxi and Private Hire Licensing office.
Please provide your phone number, and if you are a licensed driver or operator, quote your date of birth, your badge or vehicle plate number when contacting us.
Monday to Friday, 9am to midday for drop-in business and 1pm to 3pm by appointment only.
Staff training every third Tuesday of the month until 10am.
