Our Executive Board has approved a proposal to change the age range of Moor Allerton Hall Primary School from 3-11 years to 4-11 years and permanently close the local authority maintained nursery provision at the school with effect from 1 January 2025.
Our Executive Board has approved a proposal to permanently expand Allerton High School from 220 places to 280 places in Year 7 from September 2022.
Our Executive Board has provisionally approved funding to support a 30 place resource provision for pupils with complex communication difficulties including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) being established at Bishop Young Church of England Academy from September 2021.
Our Executive Board has provisionally approved funding to support the expansion of Bramhope Primary School. It will permanently expand from 40 to 60 places in reception from September 2022.
Our Executive Board has approved proposals to permanently expand Broomfield South SILC, as part of a school rebuild and establish a permanent satellite site for post-16 learners at White Rose Park.
The proposed opening date for the rebuild of the main Broomfield site and the additional places is September 2027.
The permanent satellite site at the White Rose Park would be from September 2025.
The proposal to expand Cockburn John Charles Academy has now been approved. It will permanently expand from 210 places to 240 places in Year 7 from September 2022.
Trinity Academy Leeds and will open on a site near Torre Road, LS9 in September 2021. In April 2020 Trinity Multi Academy Trust were given Secretary of State Approval to sponsor the new school in East Leeds.
The school will be a mainstream, non-faith, mixed gender, secondary school for pupils aged 11 to 16. The school will consist of:

Our Executive Board has approved decommissioning the resource provision at Gledhow Primary School from August 2022.
Our Executive Board has provisionally approved funding to support the expansion of Horsforth School. It will permanently expand from 225 to 285 places in Year 7 from September 2022.
Our Executive Board has approved a proposal to establish a 12 place resource provision at St Margaret’s C of E Primary School, Horsforth for pupils with complex communication difficulties including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) from September 2021.
Our Executive Board has approved a proposal to establish a 16 place resource provision for pupils with complex communication difficulties and autism at Iverson Primary School starting September 2023.
Our Executive Board has approved funding to deliver the proposed permanent expansion at Leeds City Academy.

In 2019 we were successful in our bid to the Department for Education (DfE) to establish a new 200 place generic special free school in Leeds and The Co-operative Academies Trust were announced as the successful sponsor of this school and the new school is to be known as Co-op Academy Brierley. The school will provide places for 200 pupils aged 5-16.
The school is due to open in September 2023 on an interim site at the Co-op Nightingale Primary Academy on Stanley Road, Leeds 9 before moving to its permanent brand-new base at Cross Green Lane, Leeds 9 for the start of the 2024/25 academic year.
From September 2024 Co-op Academy Brierley will establish a new primary partnership provision within the purpose built extension at Co-op Nightingale Primary Academy site.

Our Executive Board has approved a proposal to expand St Edward’s Catholic Primary School to permanently increase the number of places offered at the school in Reception from 20 to 30 places from September 2022.
Our Executive Board has approved a proposal by West Oaks SEN Specialist School and College Governing Body to permanently expand the school from 350 to 500 SEND places for learners aged 2 to 19 using an additional site at Buckingham Road, Headingley from September 2021.
Our Executive Board has approved a proposal to lower the age range of Wetherby High School from 11 to 18 years to 11 to 16 years from September 2022 onwards.
