It's up each individual whether they access the support we offer. Our support might include:

  • support from a specialist mentor
  • employment support
  • mental health support
  • help with their education
  • housing support

Causes and signs of radicalisation

Radicalisation is the process which leads to a person supporting terrorism and other forms of extremism.

There are many reasons why someone might be susceptible to radicalisation. Many of the factors are the same as for people becoming involved in drug and alcohol misuse, child sexual exploitation and gangs.

If someone is being radicalised, you might notice changes in their behaviour. There may be a good reason for this change but if you’re not sure seek help by contacting Leeds Prevent. Find out more in our Radicalisation and preventing extremism one minute guide (PDF, 246 KB).
