Trial an electric cargo bike (e-cargo bike)

Your organisation can trial an electric cargo bike for up to three months free of charge.

What are e-cargo bikes

E-cargo bikes are a versatile way of transporting items with zero emissions and no associated cost like vehicle tax or parking. 

To keep it simple they are large electric powered cycles with a large storage area, usually placed at the front of the bike making them easy to manoeuvre. The electric motor provides pedal assistance allowing you to travel further with less effort. They can get through congested areas with ease and cover up to 50 miles on a single charge.

Benefits to your business

Electric cargo bikes are an environmentally friendly alternative to some other modes of transportation. 

They are fully tax deductible for businesses, they have no parking costs, minimal running costs and do not require a licence or vehicle tax. 

Studies show that they can be more efficient and improve a company's image making customers more likely to repeat purchase, this survey also shows that people were happy to pay up to 5% more on goods and services from sustainable businesses.

Once the trial is over, we'll produce a free report that will show you how you utilised the bikes, much money and emissions your organisation could save by switching to electric cargo bikes.

Apply to borrow an e-cargo bike

To borrow an e-cargo bike, your public, private or third sector organisation must be based in Leeds.

If you're interested, register your interest by email and we'll speak with you about the needs of your organisation. We'll offer you one on one advice on which vehicle would be best for you to trial.

You will need to pay a refundable deposit of £200 and you'll be liable if the e-cargo bike is damaged or stolen.
